A quick catch up

Well, it’s been a short while.

But what a short while it’s been! It’s been so hectic, so mad, so busy that this is merely my second or third post since arrival down here, and that was a whopping four weeks ago.

As a result of the abject craziness, a few things have folded, and one of the more high profile of these was The Friday E-Mail. Please, if anyone feels the sudden urge to write an e-mail on Friday for all to read, publish it on the blog for all to read. As it stands, it may well re-start on returning to Manchester, but until then, I’m afraid it’s going on hold – unless I can snatch a few moments on Friday, which I just haven’t been able to do. Damn this social life!

Still, to catch up on where I am, I’m still not in love with all the local southerners, but the vast majority I’m indifferent towards, and some I’m friends with! Wahey!

My music wagon continues to roll on though. After coming under criticism for being too acoustic, too relaxed and all that razzmatazz, I am swaying some people into liking strange things. Rufus Wainwright being the major one that’s getting passed around, but I have had interest on other segments, like The Divine Comedy. You can’t beat that kind of interest, really. For all those people who don’t like my music, and I know who you all are, I’ve met people like you too, don’t worry!

It’s nearly halfway through the term, but I don’t have a handle on half the people’s names, which may sound a little shameful, but it’s more a case of settling down and getting into a routine, rather than treating it like the glorified social club of the past few weeks. So I’m keeping a stable base for now, but all the time ready to extend. And, the good news for all those interested is that I still have no restraining orders on me so far!

What else to mention….

I’m not too sure. I’ve taken up some German again (why, I can’t say. I thought it’d be fun!) and indeed it is, even if it is ever so slightly more work. And may I salute the cinematic epic Run Lola Run, which was fantastic the second time – more so than the first time I saw it, really!

Oh, and by the by, I went to see Sideways last night too, and we both enjoyed it! Ah-ha! I’ve found people who like that too. I told you there were strange people down here.

Anyway, I will dart off now leaving you with the phrase I have pinned to my door.

“I let my mind wander…. It never came back!”

Lola rennt or "Run Lola Run" is indeed a cinematic classic...bravo for watching that cult classic, I'm assuming without the aid of subtitles! :P

You seem to be having a hectic schedule but try and fit in the famous Friday publication whenever you get the time. If not, bring back Kyle for his guest editions! I miss his words of wisdom too.

Sideways? As in the sideways all the fuss was made about it being rubbish?
Anyways, having a small slack here at work to read posts, so I'll second Scotty in requesting a friday email, even just a few lines ^-^
We're gonna get internet at our place (that's mine and Kyle's, but don't count your 5p's just yet, its a purely practical arrangement), so I'll pester him to write one iffen you can't. He definately has time :)
