A new post - shock horror!

Well it’s a big hello to one and all. I thought I’d better post on here again to tell you all how things are going, and quite possibly explain my infamous last comment which I removed by accident but shall reinstate.

Firstly, things are going swimmingly. This is my first post since arrival on life since arriving, so I think this could be a good place to start. The people in college and at the university are utterly fantastic – well the ones that I get on with are at any rate. I haven’t had time to fully apply my group theory yet, but I think it’s still holding, you know.

We’re entering week three of the working term (my weeks start on Thursdays – you can’t but love the quirkiness!) so that’s more than a quarter into the term, yet it feels so much longer. I’ve made some great friends in just a handful of days, and this number of friends just keeps on climbing, as I’m more comfortable with my surroundings and happier to stop to talk to people. So much so, I leave extra time to get places so I can stop and chat on the way.

It just gets better though. Enjoying the life without boundaries is fantastic, and it is simply fantastic. It may not be for everyone, but you can’t help but enjoy this kind of feeling.

I wont go into details about people or certain things, I’d be wittering on for pages upon pages of utter drivel for you to read, and that’s not what this is about! This is all for my wittering to summarise things.

But, to be true, I don’t have much else to say.

Yes, I’m making new friends, and I can’t say that I’m missing you all back home. I don’t think I’m missing anyone, to be true. There’s no time for that kind of thinking. It is safe to say though that I have not forgotten you back home, and I’m doing my best to keep in touch just a little, mainly by updating this beast of a blog and holding onto the traditions of The Friday E-Mail which has now taken a new focused format, just because I’m struggling to keep up with the news and thought that I might no be the only one to be feeling this way.

Finally, remember people, it’s not all about the drinking, it’s about the socialising. And, although I’ve done my best to avoid the dancing, I will cave in and give it a go eventually. So what should it be: Ballroom or Swing?

Ta taa for now and I will see you all very, very soon. Christmas is but a matter of weeks away, you know!

Paul

And now for a relevant and non-depressing comment:
Swing all the way!
